Anything you’ve like to see and who do you think should release it?
Yuen Clan films:
- Dreadnaught (1981) - out from Eureka so it makes sense for them to also do:
- The Miracle Fighters (1982)
- Shaolin Drunkard (1983)
- Taoism Drunkard (1984)
I’m kind of familiar with the Yuen group and I’ve seen Dreadnaught, but I haven’t heard of those movies. I’ll have to look them up. Thanks.
Have you been able to pick up Yuen Biao’s Vinegar Syndrome releases?
I’ll have to look them up.
They can be quite difficult to come by in physical format at a reasonable price (I have Miracle Fighters on order now though) - Taoism Drunkard is my favourite as it’s properly nuts. It’s in the Internet Archive. Shaolin Drunkard is on YouTube.

I’m in the UK, so Vinegar Syndrome is a rare dip for me, however, I believe 88 Films has most (all? I’ll check my notes) of them in fancy sets.
Thanks for the links. I’ll check them out.
Vinegar Syndrome has released Righting Wrongs and Iceman Cometh.

Both out from 88 Films.
I mainly want stuff in 4k. Heisei Gamera and Jackie Chan movies. Shaw Bros in 4k. I’ve been skipping out on all the boxsets. Once Upon a Time in West I think is getting a release soon.
Definitive versions of Hard Boiled, The Killer, Bullet in the Head in just bluray would be nice.
Another release of Dead Alive.

I’ve not seen anything definitive but, at this point, I presume if they aren’t being released in 4k then 2k is the best they can do. I’ll be royally pissed off if they start banging out all that in 4k.aa I’ve sunk enough money into it that I’ll not want to upgrade.

Definitely up for that.

Ooo, yes please.
I thought there would be more 4k announcements after the Police Story 4k boxset was released.
We’ll have to wait and see I suppose but I think it’s it’s safe to assume that if it is being released today in 2k that’s the best they can manage. Arrow, for example, have a mix in their releases and some are only available in 2k - 8f they could release that film as 4k then ai can’t see a reason they wouldn’t as it’d annoy existing customers otherwise.
There are exceptions to that, the slow pace of Kurosawa 4k releases is down to the studio (Toho?) taking their sweet time, so a 2k is a stop-gap measure until they get around to it. With, for example, Shaw Brothers, if Arrow could make the Shawscope sets 4k, they would unless there are issues with the studio I haven’t heard about.
Although reading the description of the Shawscope sets again it is confusing:
