I finally received The Fight Back to School boxset last week. I preordered it back in mid-August with Lady Reporter. I also picked up the Wicker Man box, Touch of Evil, and Magic Cop.

Magic Cop is a blast. The ending has great non-stop action and time melts away.

I don’t know if I would recommend the Wicker Man boxset. I’m mostly disappointed that the source material for two cuts of the film are in bad shape. The box itself is kind of meh and expensive. The movie is perfect folk horror.

Lady Reporter is okay. The story is a bit of a mess, but action set pieces were fun.

I’m excited for The Warriors. Walter Hill is one of my favorite directors. Chucky set looks cool for the fans of the series.

I feel obligated to buy Fearless Shaolin so I will. It’ll be an upgrade from my 18 Bronzemen DVD and I will have the sequel.

I’m not sure on the Jet Li boxset either. Those movies are good, but they’re not his best. If they had Fist of Legend or Fong Sai Yuk I would buy them instantly.

I might have to get this to complete my Rothrock in HK collection. I’ve never seen it before so I’m not sure. Wong Jing movies are a crapshoot.

I thought there would be more 4k announcements after the Police Story 4k boxset was released.

Vinegar Syndrome has released Righting Wrongs and Iceman Cometh.

I’m kind of familiar with the Yuen group and I’ve seen Dreadnaught, but I haven’t heard of those movies. I’ll have to look them up. Thanks.

Have you been able to pick up Yuen Biao’s Vinegar Syndrome releases?

I mainly want stuff in 4k. Heisei Gamera and Jackie Chan movies. Shaw Bros in 4k. I’ve been skipping out on all the boxsets. Once Upon a Time in West I think is getting a release soon.

Definitive versions of Hard Boiled, The Killer, Bullet in the Head in just bluray would be nice.

Another release of Dead Alive.

It’s not easy to import UK releases, but I’m grateful and buy as much as I can. Eureka and 88 Films have done an amazing job the past three years.

Magic Cop is fun. I wish they made sequels for it. Did you pick up the Mr Vampire sequels boxset?

I have to support Stephen Chow releases and hope to get God of Cookery and King of Comedy released in the west. God of Cookery is a personal all time top ten favorite movie.

Iron-Fisted Monk is a classic Sammo movie.

Just another fan.

Mood right now: Currently waiting patiently for the Bruce Lee boxset I ordered from Diabolik.

Blood and Black Lace in 4k is tempting with it’s gorgeous colors, but I already have the Arrow bluray. I might end up picking it up during the year end sale. Same with Ringu and maybe Carlito’s Way. I already have a dvd of Prodigal Son. If it was 4k, I would preorder it. I’ve only seen Psycho II so I can’t justify a blind buy for the other sequels.
