Magic Cop is fun. I wish they made sequels for it. Did you pick up the Mr Vampire sequels boxset?

I have to support Stephen Chow releases and hope to get God of Cookery and King of Comedy released in the west. God of Cookery is a personal all time top ten favorite movie.

That’s on my to buy list too - I have them all on DVD (I think I had to import most of them from Hong Kong) so didn’t rush to pick it up, but I do want it, especially as some of the DVDs aren’t much better quality than a VHS.

It’s funny that when Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle were released there were articles about his other films being less easily understood by westerners, so they’d not be released. Now, it feels like they are going to eventually mine his back catalogue! The beauty of boutique Blu-ray publishers.

It’s not easy to import UK releases, but I’m grateful and buy as much as I can. Eureka and 88 Films have done an amazing job the past three years.

Yes and it’s tricky importing American stuff here in the UK - you can’t win.

However, we are doing well in the UK - Hong Kong Legends and Tartan video back in the day for DVDs and now Eureka, 88 Films and Arrow (who I think now have the Shaw Brothers license that 88 Films once had at least part of). That all works out nicely for me as I watch a lot of Asian cinema as well as horror, so that suits me more than an art house publisher.
