Cuz I really don’t see any social transformation happening in the west in my lifetime. I’m actually less doomer than I was in the past about humanity as a whole but I think Amerikkka and it’s vassals are fucked and sadly I live here. I’m for everyone doing what they can but I’m beyond feeling even slightly optimistic so acceptance is just how I survive.

As presented, this is not a serious factor because that is also true of whoever your dating pool is unless you’re trying to pick up younger people, which I trust you aren’t.

This is kind of hard to talk about without stumbling into problematic territory, but it’s generally considered that women age better than men, heterosexual women get more picky with male partners as they age and the dating pool shrinks as you age. Also there’s men who have aged better than me due to better lifestyle choices so I have to compete with them now so I’ve just sort of accepted my chances aren’t good and trying feels more exhausting and humiliating than accepting.

This is totally anecdotal, but I have heard a lot more women are IDing as bisexual and a lot of bisexual women are avoiding relationships with men more. Which is totally understandable but as a guy who’s dated several bisexual women it does limit the dating pool.

Also I think a lot more women are finding they’re happier single than dating shitty men. Again, understandable.

Yeah that’s true. I just wonder how you’re supposed to get it across to them that late in the game that while yes, there are systematic contributing factors to their problem, if they want to get better they’re going to have to take on some responsibility themselves.

This is defiantly true, but having seen chunks of this show over my moms shoulder (I’ve never watched a full episode with her cuz I think it’s gross) some of these people do seem to have issues with taking accountability. Like there’s a lot of scenes of them complaining that their family isn’t helping them enough, followed by them yelling at their family when they call them out for not following the diet plan.

Idk how much of that is reality TV editing, also I understand their being filmed in a very humiliating position, but still it’s a very toxic way to behave towards people who are trying to help you.

Yeah I do think the show is pretty gross and exploitive, but then so is most reality TV.
