“Sure!”

next day

“Hello mom I’m here to help, what do you want me to get started on?”

“Oh my god you’re stressing me out! I need to watch home improvement YouTube videos in my PJs for a bit before we get started!”

“I mean you literally asked me to be here at this time but okay.”

later

“Why haven’t you started helping me with anything!”

“You didn’t tell me what you wanted me to do.”

“Oh my god your sister will be over soon we need to clean out the kitchen! Start making mashed potatoes, put this pictures I’ve had on the floor for a month up!”

“Weren’t you off the two days before thanksgiving?”

  • Thank you for your service. Not sure your unit, but I served in the best buy black friday brigade, and fuck that. And grocery bagging before that. Until the past couple years, Thanksgiving has been an absolute scourge

catgirl-salute same to you. I did a year in the same unit and currently am in grocery

so at least black friday for us is just “everyone has had leftovers and is stuffed” and we get a few day reprive to get caught up before the stream of product starts up again for xmas

      • We had drive up where you’d load groceries in cars (way before covid) and I’d just hide there all day - or have my friends stash carts in the farthest corners of the parking lot so I could kill time going to get them. Honestly I’ve worked worse, and at least people might tip around the holidays rather than just be rude. Hope it’s smooth sailing for you friendo rat-salute-2
