A surprising number of those present are unelected. What was this about liberal democracy being the pinnacle of human achievement?
“Free” is one of the most misused words in the English language. It’s genuinely painful. And I don’t mean “it’s cutely misused like ‘literally’ and I’m being pedantic about it”, I mean it is purposefully and systemically misused on a massive scale of gaslighting.
Is a single one of these fellas even liked in their own countries? I know for sure macron, starmer, zelensky, vdl, trudeu, scholz, sanchez are on their way out.
Don’t know how this area of Lemmy came to me. But from the UK, I don’t think Starmer is disliked. He inherited over a decade of conservatives hiding the deficit and is trying to fix it despite the costs and anger. Also standing up for his values is pretty cool. I voted for him and undecided, he has a few years to figure it out.
Not hated though.
Which values are you talking about? Conservatice values? The guy was complicit in the purging of the actual labourist politicians like Jeremy Corbyn 😂. He is a run of the mill centrist, which in the UK means a conservative.
Macron is still the leader of France?
Oui, they pulled a bourgeois democracy with parliamentarian characteristics and nothing changed. Just the usual ‘‘powers keeping other powers in check’’ bullshit to preserve the continuity of capital. (I don’t remember the specifics 😅 )
