You’ve played Metal Gear yes but have you played Hideo Kojima’s other games
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is one of my favorite games of all time and I would argue it’s the best PS2 action game, also I’m pretty sure it ended up being a massive influence on the writing of Armored Core VI
The original Zone of the Enders is OK too but it’s nothing compared to the sequel
To really understand the lore and setting I recommend playing the GBA game that I myself only just started playing because I just got into GBA emulation last week because the main games don’t always explain everything
Nice, then I’ll recommend a mech game that couldn’t be more different
Steambot Chronicles, a game that I remember as an action RPG where you play as a alternate universe 1920’s jazz musician who pilots a steam powered mech

The “what if Super Robot Wars had aiming” puts me off the GBA game. Both of the anime, 2167 Idolo and Dolores, I, are pretty good!
Edit: I think Kojima just produced the ZoE games, not directed. Still great ones, though!
Yeah that aiming thing is weird but the emulator I’m using let’s me switch to half or double speed and going slow mo really helps make that less bad
Love it when emulation makes weird old games more playable lol
Way ahead of you, already beat ZOE 1 + 2 years ago, but I will replay them!
