I actually liked some of the features that came with win11 but it was so bloated that it wouldn’t run that well on my old laptop.

Glad to hear that. After trying to linux and not having a great experience, I am forced to comeback to Windows. Will try these out next time.
On that note, do we have some good Windows forks/builds which remove the bloat for us? I heard about lot of them, not sure which one is actually worth trying.
Bixby still alive? I haven’t heard about in this AI swarm and assumed Samsung killed it.
Might be a dumb question but why don’t we just continue using Win10 post end of it’s support? Are security updates that necessary that the system wouldn’t work at all? As a kid I have used old Win versions like XP and 7 for a very long time, never had an issue.
Doesn’t group policy tweaks gets reverted on update or something like that? I heard about this group policy workaround and also heard something that said it wasn’t that great of a solution.
Really young folks on here have no idea how amazing it was for computers to go from taking minutes to start up to taking seconds
Pretty sure we don’t have such an young audience here on lemmy haha
Why is the buzz around passkeys is back? I am seeing them way more often than they used to be. I think I have created passkeys for 2 apps and don’t even know how that worked, it such a breeze that almost felt it wasn’t secure lol.
In what ways the passkeys are different than authenticator apps?
Does it have an Android app? Or anything similar for Android?
Same with me. I really feel I should quit discord but I lose all of my online friends.
I feel 64gb should be the minimum. I had 32gb phone which I used for 6yrs and I used it without SD card. I could run it that long because I had unlimited gphotos backup which came with a custom ROM and I always has to clean it every month or so to have around 2gb free. Now I upgraded to 128gb, let’s see how it goes. Idk if I should opt to an SD card.
Since the discussion has come up, let me ask this here.
I have been using Mull for sometime now. It’s all good but are there any forks of Firefox that are like chromium forks eg Cromite? Cromite is really good as it offers a ton of extra features too. Mull is great as far as privacy is concerned but I want few features as well. Especially if I could change the app logo and launch animation to stock Firefox that’d be great.
The same site also states Firefox is also spyware. Why treat it good while treat Brave as bad?
Why not Brave
What is it?
Edit: I just searched about it and wow. Didn’t know we have alternative to SimpleTools available already. I have been using the old Simple Notes despite the news of its acquisition out of laziness and not it’s the time to switch. Thanks.
Can confirm
I use emojis when I want to convey that I’m trolling.
The other day, I was chatting on a Discord server about how people manage their photos, which keep piling up each year. I asked which cloud service they use, and one person replied, ‘Save them offline.’ That really struck me because I haven’t invested in offline storage devices in years, and I realized I wasn’t storing anything offline.
I am trying both the ways nowadays. Sometimes I wake up early to avoid the rush and I feel so groggy waking up earlier than usual that I slow-mo the morning routine. Sometimes when I wake up little late, I’m fully wake from the get go that I manage to rush through the routine. In both cases I reach the end around similar times. I am not sure which one I prefer, maybe not sticking to one makes the morning a little less boring.
Why do I need to create a new account for it? At least it should let me sign in with pixelfed account right?
