That’s actually part of why I didn’t enjoy Gradius and Life Force. At that point it’s not a fun challenge, it’s just bullshit. In Contra you can do pretty good with the starting weapon, even if it’s not ideal.

There is a pretty fun metroidvania called The Weird Dream that I only know about because FitGirl repacked it. They don’t seem like a threat to me.
Style, visuals, characters and the gameplay all look pretty cool. I think the question is if it’s going to manage to reach a large enough audience?
I don’t know, I think even back then PS1 and Saturn had the better controllers.
Oh hey, they finally remastered games that would benefit from it.
It would be very interesting to see what the Angel of Darkness remaster will look like. Honestly that’s one of few games I’d love to see get remade, Core had a lot of plans for the title that didn’t make the cut due to rushed development.
I’ll definitely try usenet when I have the money to pay for it, niche content without jumping through private tracker hoops sounds awesome. Though I also love torrents, so it could go either way in the end.
They buried Vinnie on a hill, overlooking a little river, with pine cones all around.
Oh hell yeah! Doomers did it again!
Nah, that was a reboot. And it kinda sucked.
I’ve never heard of Ratalaika Games before.
The game seems quite fun, I actually liked the first Zelda (even if it was incapable of guiding the player in anyway the gameplay loop was great). So I would love to give this a shot.
That’s some awesome 2000s coverart! I want to give it a try now, I love shooters.
Edit: Shiny Entertainment guys made this? Now I definitely want to play it!
…poorly received full-motion video sequences.
Those cutscenes are the best thing to ever happen to Mario, change my mind 😌☕
I don’t even know if it’s “so bad, it’s good” at that point, the writers and animators could’ve been taking the piss for all we know 🤣
You think you are old? I was playing Duodecim Scribta at Ancient Rome!
It’s not hard to be honest, time wasn’t kind to HL 1.
I’ve been playing for the first time a while back. It’s neat, but I think the primary reason people love it so much is that it’s the first popular console FPS that didn’t control horribly and split screen co-op. On it’s own it’s just a decent shooter that no longer feels special.
Nah, Space War is retro.
Which is why they won’t do it. This is about easy money, not revisiting games that aged poorly and / or failed to live up to their potential when they originally came out to make a better and more modern experience while retaining the spirit of originals.
They aren’t paid enough to care.
Can we discuss actual retro gaming instead of has-been publishers selling their old games back to you again for easy profit?
And the crowd goes mild.
