the contrarian in me wants to take up gaia worship because i think it’d be pretty wholesome actually. i think i could make a pretty good go of it with some modern cognitive science, a splash of new age babble, and a dab of whiteheadian panpsychism.

I accidentally deleted my armored core 3 data so I had to restart (again). And i’m doing much, much better the third time, especially once I got over my fear of selling the starter parts, which are garbage. I’ve got a super fast lightweight build and i stomped the arena so now i’m stacked on cash which is good because it feels like the early missions dont give you much. I’ve also gotten better at using the controls and it’s very rewarding. Old gen is clunky as hell until you learn to move smoothly by not landing hard and not killing your booster on the ground. I love it.
I’ve also been playing armored core 6 multiplayer again and to be honest, after coming back from old gen I actually kind of hate the stagger mechanic (at least in multiplayer)
imagine having to actually do good software design
i wish the vita succeeded. i never owned one but it was so cute and portable. the FOSS console of the future is vita-sized, so shall I say when i finally get my turn on the lathe of heaven
played some armored core 6 with a friend for the first time in a while and it was so much fun as always. love that game and its even better when you can talk to the person youre playing with/against

completely reasonable and justifiable to point this out and while maybe you cant definitively say porn causes these things the propagation and normalization of these trends I do think is harmful and reinforcing, particularly in cultural narratives and attitudes around sex and SV. Why is that even a debate, this is a Citations Needed/Michael Parenti fan webzone
and acting like people are evangelical freaks for being concerned about the normalization of hardcore sexual acts through porn makes me s upset
same and also why let the evangelicals be the only voice in the room on problematic porn use which is very obviously a thing (even if you disagree with the label of addiction)? And I think that extends beyond the content of porn itself, and requires a very explicit marxist and materialist lens to be analyzed properly, since imo it applies more broadly to modern content delivery and our relationship to the internet in general today.
I think part of this too is some of the language and narratives (ESPECIALLY pop-psych ones) around addiction and also how we communicate regarding it but thats a different conversation maybe
