It probably boils down to Boimler being a sad sack who still isn’t confident enough to stand up for himself.

Hmmm, I wasn’t quite sure about the Futurama reference at first because Bone Vampires/Moopsies aren’t exactly unique types of legendary creatures, but then Ransom said “Turns out humans are the most dangerous” which is a straight up lift from the Scary Door.
Genuinely curious here… what about the concerns of nuclear waste? My understanding of it is based on the Simpsons so ELI5 how modern tech resolves the waste issues?
It’s an infographic for children…? I think it’s meant to be simple.
I’m sure 18+ people should already have a more nuanced view of what those words mean. And if they don’t I’m sure there are other materials they can peruse to help them understand.
This one is a gem: https://youtu.be/csbSoyzOjm0
Same! The only thing missing was a cigar in his hands!
My partner describes it as like TNG with the weak episodes taken out. They’re great, good, or neutral.
I think it’s not just because Una pointed out there was crew down there but specifically told Spock they had to (should) stay close. He took it literally as a command whereas he really should have evaluated it for himself.
The way I read the scene was that he was so high off his power that he thought with the tables turned and Pike having no power that he would have the upper hand. But Pike managed to subdue him and High Lord Zacarias was all of a sudden staring down the barrel of a phaser rifle and all of a sudden wasn’t so confident that the Pike he knew, who would lower the weapon once the combatant was subdued, was still there. I think the sudden switch was just an “OH shit, what have I done?” moment.
I don’t think you can go wrong with either one! I love TNG and rewatch it constantly. You’re right that TOS has fewer takers but I’m sure there will be some who will want to re-watch to refresh their memories on the details of the episodes. My partner and I rewatched Balance of Terror, the Cage, Arena, and Space Seed because of SNW. I’m sure others wouldn’t be here if we weren’t down to discuss any Trek in some way.
I feel like with this instance being this small right now, it would probably not be best use of resources to create a community just for a handful of people that would do it. It might work if you can guarantee like 30 people will engage during the 40-ish minutes of an episode. For now, wouldn’t it be better to test interest by creating your own viewing party posts in the main !startrek community and go from there?
From what I understand, admins here are literally paying out of pocket AND volunteering their time to host us. Just as when I invite my friends over to my house for a BBQ, if one of them brings a friend that starts shitting in my pool, I tell them to GTFO and probably stop hosting BBQs for a while even though my friends who DIDN’T shit in my pool still end up suffering the consequences.
Thanks, current Fediverse admins!
Wow, can I just add all the communities from mander.xyz and then filter out what I don’t want? I like the content but I’m starting to try to consolidate my testing IDs into one instance. It’s a feature that I have to purposely go add other communities on other instances and the only “defaults” I get are the ones on my local instance?
I wonder if there is a way to have a feed that is startrek.website + mander.xyz but exclude other non-sciencey discourse from ala .world or .ml. “All” right now does not options to filter those out…
My initial reaction is that that story was told very well and Christina Chong was phenomenal at acting it out too. But I think I need more time to actually digest the ramifications of what just happened to her too… yikes.
I’m pretty sure an actor appeared in Time’s Arrow
