Shaka, when the walls fell.
As others have stated, grapheneOS is a good choice, and it’s extremely secure.
Another option is murena’ eOS. If you live in Europe, thier store sells phones with the OS preinstalled, and if you don’t, the easy installer app works pretty well with most models.
But fair warning, I recently installed eOS on my wife’s old Samsung S7, and I ended up having to do the installation manually with adb (command line tools). So read up on the phone you want to use, some are easier than others.
The operating system itself is great, and allows for anonymous usage of the play store (free stuff only of course) as well as F-Droid out of the box. You can also add your Google account to get full play store functionality, but then Google starts getting your info again, albeit less than with standard android.
I worked it out, they have ~6 comments/hour average over the last year. A lemmy legend.
In Other Waters. Wonderful atmospheric indie with minimalist visual style and a wonderful chill soundtrack. It’s beautiful and relaxing, but never boring.
Their for the tip.
Reddit pereon here. After over a year (I think, didn’t check) on Lemmy I still don’t understand the details about how works. I’m pretty busy, and it works to get me my news and such, so it wasn’t important to understand how it does so.
But now I’m inspired, thanks for that. I will look into changing servers, finding something that better fits my interests and such. I may even perhaps learn something in the process. Keeping the network decentralized is important, and I can do my part.
I use two Ecoflow batteries, a smaller 2kAh model and a 4kAh one. I have solar panels on my Garage roof, the big battery lives there. I charge bike batteries directly with the big battery, and use the big one to charge the small one for use in the house.
The setup is expensive overall, but the results are great. The batteries have USB C that can charge laptops and other devices, and the AC outlets are powerful enough for the vaccum cleaner, coffee machine, basically everything in the house that can be plugged into an outlet other than some power tools.
Edit: Actually I haven’t installed the panels yet, I’ve been too busy. When I first posted it seemed like an unimportant detail, but yeah, no. I have been using the little battery for about 18months already with a smaller portable panel that moves around the yard to get the best sunlight, so the details about using the batteries are true. But I’m still unsure how to charge one battery with the other. The AC outlets will work for this, but the conversion losses are a problem, and I’m looking into how to do DC transfer.
It’s an amazing tool.
For your comics list, I’d suggest Dataview, quickadd, and templater plugins. With those three you could easily make a database with an entry mask, that automatically sorts the files into folders and sets metadata based on the mask input, and dynamically creates various tables for reference.
Folder notes could be useful too, depending how you want to set it up, and how detailed you want to have your tables.
Whatever you decide on, good luck. :)
This program rocks for any sort of organization.
Markdown files in folders, with all sorts of plugins for tweaking it to your use case.
But beware, Obsidian is full of rabbit holes. Don’t get distracted by shiny plugins that you don’t actually need.
Another reason to check out eOS. F-Droid is a standard source for the default app store, along with the usual play store apps. I just got a Fairphone 5 last week, an installed eOS. I’m loving it so far.
I was trying so hard to get GTP4ALL to work inside of obsidian because it has this localdocs feature, where you can feed it documents and it integrates them into itself. I want the model to be aware of the whole vault, and also generate notes based on the vault contents, constantly updating.
It looks like podman desktop + chatGPG obsidian plugin is the way to go through, I’m playing around with it and it looks promising.

"In superconductors, the electrons act like two reticent people at a dance party. At first, neither person wants to dance with the other. But then the DJ plays a song that both people like, allowing them to relax. They notice one another enjoying the song and become attracted from afar – they have paired but have not yet become coherent.
Then the DJ plays a new song, one that both people absolutely love. Suddenly, the two people pair and start to dance. Soon everyone at the dance party follows their lead: They all come together and start dancing to the same new tune. At this point, the party becomes coherent; it is in a superconducting state.
In the new study, the researchers observed electrons in a middle stage, where the electrons had locked eyes, but were not getting up to dance."
This is an awesome ELI5.
Oh god I remember doing that too. Those “programs” were the best. I even mad sure to make the code long, so that even if someone thought to take a look at the code they would have to scroll for a while to find the notes.
It’s about how they do it. They achieve this not only by being incredibly efficient through exploiting thier employees, but also by systematically destroying competition, and using thier marketplace to unfairly favor thier own products.
It’s techno-feudalism, here’s a great presentation/interview about it:
Depends on your requirements. The faiphone 5 has 8GB of RAM, which is more than enough for what I’m doing with a smartphone.
Oh course I totally understand what you are talking about though, for many users (mobile gamers, people who don’t mind google/apple telemetry, etc.) 8GB is a bare minimum.
The remarkable 2 is apparently good for this if you know what you are doing.

I have one and I’m very happy with it, but I use it exclusively for todo lists and taking notes, so I have no need to tinker with it.
