They should name the archiving ai Herodotus… We really have entered the post truth era.

The company has injected more than 4.5 million metric tons of carbon into the ground below its Decatur plant since it began operations. To put this in perspective, the plant emitted more than 4.1 million metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere in 2022 alone.
So they basically took a chunk of emissions and said, I’ll bet we can make that double what it is now, but only if we also poison the locap water supplies.
Probably Late Night With The Devil. I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet but I want to.
Like the orc hordes of Saruman, mankind will not rest until every tree is felled.
The ‘Twenty thousand years of this, seven more to go’ always clicked so hard for me.
Henson expects La Niña, which is associated with cooler temperatures, to take effect later this year and subsequently reduce average temperatures.
“Even if next year doesn’t bring similar records, we know what the long term forecast is, and that’s warmer and warmer over time,” Henson said, adding: “When you turn up the burners and leave them on for a century, you’re going to see the water boil.”
When it’s 0.1 degrees cooler next year and it gets reported as a cooling trend.
Edit: I guess that quote was from the NBC article about the same, here’s archive:
I heard he aced the exam after they bandaged his ear up. Doctor said he had never seen a hearing test so perfect before. Using just his right ear they had him listen and repeat the words ‘woman, man, camera, tv.’ Doctors said, sir, that was just beautiful.
Also available on iphone (downloading it now), ready to drop maps as the degoogling continues.
And here I thought it was because I have zero intention of ever watching it.
They’ll just ban them from being imported. Far cheaper to pay off some politicians than it is to compete or whatever. Kinda like the tariffs on the solar panels ‘flooding the market’ they just announced.
Same as the old norm
Movie is definitely top tier, I also love the novella. Different Seasons is what I point to when people dismiss stephen king. Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, and (while not on the level as the other two) Apt Pupil all in the same collection. But to each their own; pretty sure the final story is trash though haha.
Wonder if this will finally get me to put down the original or if I just play both from now on lol.
They were being facetious and pretending your average person could just buy gas the same way that oil barrel speculation works, almost like buying vouchers. It was a pretty good one so I don’t want them to have to explain the joke haha.
You can use xbox/ps controllers on pc with steam. The steamdeck controller layout works great, you’d just use right hoystick instead of trackpad.
Not me personally, but back in high school (in the late 20th century lol) a group of kids I went to school with got inspired by Dead Presidents to rob a bunch of banks. They got caught.
Forming coherent sentences puts it above large sections of the population. Eventually they’re going to have to dumb down the speech output, ala Dubya during his presidency. Add to that all the conditioning to trust authoritative sources and this is going to turn into a real problem sooner rather than later. I think one of the first things to come out that will really cause damage is replacing teachers with ai. If all those teachers out there would quit asking to make more money than a 12 year old in a meat packing plant, maybe this wouldn’t happen, but I digress… (Kudos to all the teachers out there, obviously.)
Ok article overall, although the title should probably be more like ‘Here is why we will never degrowth.’ Although this paragraph really got my hackles up:
Being less well off because of corporate fuckery is not what degrowth is, if anything consumerism has massively increased even with less free income around.
