Currently quite enjoying playing with Lilith and stacking smg damage on top of more smg damage then going for headshot crits it absolutely melts everything

Getting flashbacks to not being able to play bad company 2 and Mag for a month. Pouring one out for battlefield 1943, what a game
Personal preference but I don’t like overly sharp 4k ps1 graphics. I prefer native res integer upscaled with CRT filters to try and replicate the original look as closely as possible. The dithering and warbling stays on in bed
My approach for years is just to use the GameCube version unless its a ps2 exclusive. Like even the deinterlacer can cause some weird artifacts if the game doesn’t support progressive scan and pressure sensitive buttons still fuck me off. Also some games the opengl renderer just doesn’t work properly I tend to run in software mode a lot of the time and have done for years. For example armored core 2 actually performs worse in hardware rendered mode lol. I use the built in lottes filter it makes the native ps2 res look nicer on bigger screens but i mostly ps2 on my steam deck where native res actually looks great. I also really just hate the high res look on classic games and it makes me shudder when I see what people do to ps1 games, i prefer integer upscaling.
But yeah I’ve had issues with ps2 emu for like a decade I’m glad it finally got a usable UI though
Forgot about these guys haven’t watched them in years
I made horror maps in the level editor and would permanently zoom in with the p90 scope for a film grain and spawn zombies. Flickering lights everywhere.
Pretty certain all 3 PC releases have been revamped by nightdive and play really well
Still need to play the original but the games do look really fun. Also I love the visuals of the cryengine wish it was used more
Yeah the zoom controls i will admit are just plain bad. Don’t think the first level actually requires stealth though it just makes it easier but you can run through and trigger all the alarms. Not that it helps much.
I think out of the fps on the ps2 at the time it was still the nicest feeling as competing games were medal of honor, killzone, nightfire, agent under fire. Which all felt clunky to me
Timesplitters aim is taken directly from goldeneye and perfect dark. Personally i find it significantly more intuitive and they were my favourite fps games as a kid to play. It was in itself a method of making single stick FPS playable, precise aim is for sniping and stealth headshots otherwise make sure the enemy is in the center of your screen and fire. Although i can imagine this is like me liking tank controls so…
I did actually have one of the psp games back when it came out and played it to completion. I don’t remember anything in particular detail other than it being the reason my psp had teeth marks in it (or maybe that was killzone liberation). But I was a kid so maybe its fine. God of war 2 worth playing? I’ve heard it’s very similar to 1
You can’t really even compare it to DMC it loses on every front. Worse combat, less bosses (although what are in the game are decent), worse puzzles, music isn’t even on the same plane of existence… Now i wanna play DMC again.
I remember back when it came out my friends had it largely because it was edgy booba violence and not really for any other reason. It was just the cool thing to have like getting gta vice city and running around on the beach with a chainsaw to show your friends because that was the cool kid thing to do.
Meanwhile I was playing soul reaver 2 on loop the game that largely forged my personality and lives in every neuron in my brain
Freemans mind is so good that when I’d replay half life afterwards it actually felt worse because the rants just fit in so well.
Yeah graphics do sell but only the games that actually are pushing the limits like doom 3 or crysis. Copy paste UE5 slop is not that at all and never will be
Oh i know about LTT’s shit if i ever saw Linus I’d rip off his ballsack little petite bourgeois scumbag he’s the archetype of all small family business owners who i hate with a divine passion. Also the fans of the channel are fanatics at this point and I’m pretty sure harrassed the vicitims of his companies abuse
Its threat interactive seemingly getting banned from being mentioned everywhere that I was curious about.
Supposedly there’s some controversy surrounding this guy but I haven’t figured out what yet cos no one will say. Anyone know? His points seem salient enough are there really such avid defenders of unreal engine?
I’m an avid hater of ue3 and 4 but 5 really just takes it to a new level I think lumen looks legitimately worse than any baked lightmap. Its so noisy and inaccurate causing such odd artifacts all the time. Oh and all the games perform like shit and look weird. Oversharpened blurry strange visuals where i can’t actually tell if there’s any better graphical effects because i can’t see shit. Feels like 4k + dlss performance + framegen is mandatory for all games which you can only get with the latest flagship card and everyone else gets shit i guess. More ewaste for the ewaste gods!
Also cryengines implementation of lumen called svogi is significantly better and crytek almost died entirely
Normal nms stuff. Like when their main story portal replaces my beloved ship with a alien floating testicle with no way to get it back unless i backed up the seed. Love the game but it still has way too many stupid bugs
No i don’t think I will
Yeah thats what I’m noticing its a more muted and grounded game but occasionally throws in some decent dark comedy like finding tk baha in his house or tanis’s diaries. It has a portal 1 feel for me. The ideal would be 3’s gameplay in the shell of 1
