I personally want to see many improvements to our gun laws in the U.S., such as more stringent background checks, laws against people with histories of serious psychiatric illness having access, laws against people with violent criminal histories having access, etc, but getting rid of all guns? I do like their music and I enjoy listening to most of their albums, from a musical technique point of view there is literally nothing bad to say about the band.

But, recently, I found out that, in order to be able to see them live, one has to be subscribed to their on line fan service which gives access to the pre-order of their live events tickets even before they hit the normal sale channels. Given their fame it’s already hard to be able to find a ticket to one of their live shows, which are also already quite expensive themselves. If we count the cost of the subscription to their fanclub (50$/year) it seems like they don’t care about their less wealthy fans.

This has changed my perspective on the band and its message: before making this discovery I always saw Tools as a group focused on the enrichment of individuals through art and self-improvement. Now I see them as the guys who speak nice words but then act in a complete opposite way for their own benefit, because walking the way they talk about it’s too much of an hassle for themselves.

In conclusion I’ve decided to avoid going to their live concerts and to only listen to their music via open platforms such as YouTube.

To me one of the thoughts which helps me cope with the lack of romantic affection is to remind myself that affection is not just romantic. One can find this feeling in his or her relationships with family and friends; no one is really alone on this world, there is always someone caring for us; whether he or she be a family member or a member of our social group, we do matter to someone. Even a pet can give affection, sometimes even more than humans.

Romantic love is not the only kind of love we can receive but all kinds of love need a bit of effort to flourish and develop, just like anything living on this pale blue dot if ours.

But Ukraine has been collecting and identifying Russian bodies since the start of the war, and notifying families wherever possible. Many of the soldiers also have their own phones, and those phones have told the west a great deal about what is really going on behind Russian lines. Yet you seem sure that none of those soldiers would use their phones to speak of deaths within the unit. Interesting take.

You seem to forget that, following the bombing caused by a massive presence of phone signals in a single spot, Russia has been much more careful in letting its trooper use their cellphones. Beside that I imagine a family not having any news from his relatives at the front would be anxious for their loved ones and would start asking questions, even if it meant facing criminal charges. Ukraine can identify a portion of the bodies from the battlefield I imagine, and they would be able to reach the families of an even small percentage I reckon.
