This thing has engines but the sails work too. The first ship Gotheborg sank just outside Sweden when returning from its 3rd voyage. A second, larger ship was built titled Gotheborg II which was lost during its 3rd voyage. Now this one, Gotheborg III technically, managed to finish its 3rd tour.
No to be insensitive but if 33k children crossed it in just 10 months, is it really that dangerous? With that much foot traffic I imagine the biggest threat is the actual people.
Edit: Google says the issue is snakes, slimy rocks and scary rivers.
