What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?
Blood rain, giblets, and warm bullet casings
Mild, sharp, and sharper cheese tastings
Metal dudes shredding their taut guitar strings
These are a few of my favorite things
What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?
Easy, I started my boycott after trying it for the first time 10 years ago.
I’m struggling to understand it too, especially from instance owners. FB is diametrically opposed to FOSS and decentralized ideals. My only guess is the hopefulness people feel for decentralized internet extends to naivete about FB doing the right thing this time.
This is absolutely a bad outcome and I hope the pact prevents this from playing out.
However, I feel kind of ok with losing the subset of users that would accept and use a Facebook implementation of the fediverse. It directly defeats the purpose, regardless of how much better the UI/UX may be, and shows they didn’t understand it in the first place.
We’re all still learning, but check your facts before posting this type of info so you don’t add to confusion about defederation.
@sss had it right. We can still see posts from beehaw, just not comments. If we comment on the posts or make our own posts, they only show up on !gaming@beehaw.org and won’t go to beehaw. And syncing seems to be about 3 hours behind there, but that could just be the general sync issues right now, unclear.
That’s where I started due to ease on the eyes and similar experience at first. Now I’m more comfortable on lemmy. Also, @ward2k i don’t know how it factors into active users, but they could just call kbin a home and mostly interact on lemmy communities. No idea how that affects numbers.
