Just came back from the tummy specialist or whatever their specialty is. From the two tests we did, they found problems in both. yay, go me.

So I have a SIBO problem which is treated with antibiotics. I just need to wait for my insurance to give me the go ahead so they’ll cover it. This should be 2 weeks of treatment and then I’m finished with it.

The second problem is a more long-standing one. Apparently I get non acidic reflux which may explain my symptoms. This is a bit more difficult to treat, they gave me medication that basically masks the symptom but doesn’t treat it. At the same time they are prescribing physical therapy to help the diaphragm relieve pressure which apparently works pretty well too. If that doesn’t work, we’ll be able to look into surgery.

I guess that’s some progress. At least they were able to diagnose something this time, even if they don’t know for sure that it’s causing all my problems. It also doesn’t explain how I was fine until suddenly I wasn’t or how I got a pulmonary embolism.

I can’t do much but take it one step at a time and see how things change in 2026 I guess. Oh yeah we’re only some weeks away from 2026.

Glad you’ve got some progress towards a resolution. I’m hoping I might have too, I’ve had bladder issues for years and kept getting fobbed off, they recently did a scan and found my womb is enlarged and full of fibroids and it’s pressing against my bladder. I’ve got an appointment on new years eve to see if they’re willing to do anything about it but I won’t hold my breath.
