    I’m sure if we just appease Putin his ambitions will stop there. Appeasement of dictators has worked so well in the past.

      From a historical point of view, the policy of appeasement, best known for the 1938 Munich Agreement against Hitler, is generally considered unsuccessful by modern historians. The analysis shows that they often encourages further aggression rather than stopping it.

      However, direct comparison of different historical eras and leaders can be problematic because each circumstance is unique. Modern approaches to international security and conflict tend to focus on deterrence, diplomacy, and coalition building rather than unilateral concessions.

    The only amount of territory Putin will accept long term is anywhere nukes can be placed so it bothers him.
