I expect most of the content is organic just because Lemmy is too small of a community for astroturfers to bother with seriously. After the original reddit exodus happened, world ended up becoming the mainstream lib instance, and hence why it looks like a circlejerk of mainstream liberal media. I imagine it’s just people just have a routine going through news at the same time every day, I kind of do that myself as well to be honest. It doesn’t necessarily men there’s anything malicious happening.

there’s no advertising in here - first of all

second - the bots here serve a purpose of not only being public RSS but of spreading awareness of youtube alternative links.

just reposting mainstream media articles on schedule, not even RSS ones

    What’s the difference to you?

It seems to me the biggest reason is if something isn’t showing up in someone’s feed that’s already been posted, they post it so we end up seeing the same things reposted as federation catches up with each federated instance.

Here msm gets posted because people who lurk here without posting can’t accept anything that isn’t that, maybe. And maybe also for criticism. But I’m not sure about either, this is just my personal guess.
