Are there any good direct download sites for general things? and how should one be safe is tor enough?

Im looking for certain things like educatinal books and things to cure my boredom becasue media is pricey sometimes, ive never pirated before (i think) so im up for suggestions, tips, and advice, etc.

also have any of you gotten in trouble before with this kinda of stuff?

also i would rather not torrent.

    Typically if you are using direct downloads you don’t care about using TOR. You won’t get in trouble with direct downloads, but the uploaders.

      I was looking for a defunct MMO magazine and noticed they have a huge collection of gaming magazines.

      are there any other ones that are more easy to sort thru/find things?

      i know about internet archive but i find it hard to find what your looking for and for books you usally need to return them after some time.
