More violence is coming to USA, that seems a given, but daily shootouts just means more resources to the “militia” the gov uses/chooses to use. And that can get normalised. And the percentage of gun-owners killed vs ICE agents killed acceptable (basically nobody can reasonably fight off an armed force on their own, it’s logistics, not a shonen match). Good TV news tho.
There is no deterrent in ICE getting shot on the job (that doesn’t affect Washington at all), the deterrent would be gun owners grouping together & taking on the gov as a force.
Lol, that’s is basically true-ish, but the counties, cultures, and infrastructure still got oblivioned … also the conflicts ran for so long … also2 domestically it would still count as a war & the president needs wartime excuses anyway.
And there’s a difference between a handful (by comparison) of ICE fuck heads doing what they’re doing, and the US military following orders to drive tanks down city streets and slaughtering (often white!) citizens.
I wasn’t taking an offensive stance, just that merely restricting access to supermarkets in USA means starvation & loss of daily life on a grander scale than the same to the usual countries USA bombs.
And that actual freedom fighters usually arise from non-militant groups (ie not the ones hoarding weapons & dressing in tactical gear, but like teachers & such), … unless the CIA or KGB directly funds and existing (usually fairly extreme in beliefs) fraction, which usually happens in proxi wars (then the winning daddy crowns their group the government “for stability”).
But fighting in USA wouldn’t take place in forests and caves. And foreign (food) aid would be really hard to get to individuals hiding.
So I don’t think actual USA in-fighting can take place in terms of war-like conflicts you mentioned (where USA was the invader), bcs there would be no contest, but more like IRA fighting for Ireland’s independence, or the French Resistance during WWII - individual (covert) strikes that leave the official gov unable to initiate direct conflicts & have to rely only upon their intelligence (and their own terrorist actions to put pressure on the people from the other side).
But it’s not like ICE is the only militia, FBI is just one phone call away & even alone both forces can overwhelm any resistance groups, no matter how big, as long as they know where they are.
Now, if there would be a coup that leads to an actual civil war where two organised forces would fight (ie countries with their own militaries & lands), that would be much different, but also a lot would need to happen to get there.
(And I don’t think the USA military wouldn’t follow orders, they rarely refuse to kill civilians in other countries, so not quite the same culturally (yet! let propaganda cook), but militarily force on USA streets feels like “insubordinate” cities getting the Gaza special.)

To be fair, the only wars that the US has arguably lost, has been against irregular insurgencies.

Oh, it would be devastating… But if Ho Chi Minh could do it, I think a nation with ~1.2 firearms per person could end up on top…
Also, the military are still US citizens and many would refuse to turn their weapons on fellow citizens.
Where would the fighting take place?
Private homes? City blocks?
You can just torch those.
And can these people leave their homes/jobs without starving (and no foreign aid)?
ICE and the police are also citizens and don’t seem to have much problem with it.
You’re right. The Vietcong were an anomaly…
So were the Taliban in Fallujah I guess?
