The comment right before and after this exchange makes it clear he is specifically talking about IDF troops. Because of how Israel’s military is structured, this means a good portion of the state is included.

You are spouting a known zionist talking point: “The IDF = every single Jew on the planet.”

I personally wouldn’t include reservists in the count, since they would need to be called for active duty and accept to be in the genocidal camp imo. That being said, jumping straight to antisemitism isn’t valid.

I don’t know what penalties are for dodging the draft there, in the USA you get to be president I guess, but to say everyone not willing to take whatever punishment is out there for refusing is fair game to kill pretty far out there to me.

I’ve stated before that I don’t support the IDF at large, every time they get some minor encroachment they use it as an excuse to level everything in reach, but saying someone should be exterminated because they where born in the wrong place and didn’t openly defy the law is unreal.

to say everyone not willing to take whatever punishment is out there for refusing is fair game to kill pretty far out there to me.

Currently, it’s 100 days in prison from a quick google search.

So yes, anyone willing to commit genocide instead of spending 100 days in prison is absolutely fair game.

That’s also how these things usually work. I’m certain the percentage of soldiers in the Russian army that actually want to be there is very low, and they have to deal with a lot more then just 100 days in prison if they refuse. They must be mowed down regardless.

That doesn’t fucking mean that Ukraine would be in the right for regarding all Russians who’ve went through mandatory military service but are now out of it as targets.

Apologia for murdering civilians is not welcome here.

I wouldn’t exactly call any reservist currently occupying Ukrainian land a civilian. It’s a tough subject and there are valid points on each side.

That being said, it’s not antisemitic to view idf and ex-idf currently occupying palestinian land as valid targets.

If you want to talk about if it’s moral, follow the link and argue with him. I’m talking about the “if you are critical of the state of israel, you are a nazi” aspect.

“Not all Israelis are military targets wtf”

“That’s what mandatory conscription leads to”

Very clearly not talking about just IDF troops.

Fuck, man, consider that line of thinking as applied to the War on Terror. That’s exactly the kind of ‘military age male’ bullshit that was rightly criticized as attempting to obscure the number of civilian casualties.

You are spouting a known zionist talking point: “The IDF = every single Jew on the planet.”

“Kill all the Israelis” is still genocide.

Yes all occupiers are valid military targets

I said soldiers occupying Palestine. Not “Jews across the world”.

No I very clearly said IDF soldiers.

Unless these soldiers decide to leave occupied Palestine they are not ex-soldiers because they are actively occupying and can be summoned for combat.

He isnt saying “kill all israelis”.

You do realize that ‘occupied Palestine’ includes all of modern Israel, right?

The same thing that should’ve happened to the German kids born in Argentina. Send them back. Nazis don’t get to keep occupying a space, invaders don’t suddenly get rights for shitting out a kid.

@Grimy@lemmy.world do you see why this line of thinking is a problem?

100%. I don’t share the persons views, I just think OP is wrong for jumping straight to calling him Hitler in our current climate, where the state of Israel labels any criticism towards it the same way.
