Hello everyone. Hope you all have had a good weekend. This week I’ve played more Balatro and chipping away at my DS3 SL1 run. Midir is kicking my ass but im starting to learn his moveset and consistently getting him to 1/2 health, and the main challenge is fighting to camera. Hope everyone has a good week

EDIT: Midir and Halflight are down. Only Gael stands between me and SL1 immortality

I’m playing Hollow Knight for the first time since Silksong is actually gonna be real. My main takeaway is that is so much like dark souls. Obviously it’s 2d and has much more of a focus on platforming, but a lot of the design philosophy is very similar. The cryptic NPCs, the gloomy tone, the combat focused on dodging and learning attack patterns, the way the world loops back on itself and connects so much, the bench system, the exploration - dark souls was clearly the main inspiration for hollow knight. And I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s a great game and has plenty of it’s own original identity.

I’m currently on my best run of Caves of Qud ever praying that it doesn’t all fall apart because I step on rake.

Edit: I stepped on a rake

I’ve been deep in Rimworld this week. Iceball planet permanent winter and I’m finally at the thrive stage where I’m getting nuclear power and doing more automation, next is full automated defense and urban ruin exploration, my crime against humanity this run is just using the bodies of raiders to make kibble and feed my Muffalo with.

Also started going into Voices of the Void which is neat and also terrifying. Why t he fuck is there a meat locker full of pigs in the basement of this SETI radio astronomy site

  • Been on an MGSV grind for a bit - it’s been fun aside from some unfinished sections and pretty much all of the “camera leering at Quiet” parts.

The aggravating backlash to the Devil May Cry netflix series has me considering going back to play DMC3, though last time I played it I got my ass kicked by the first boss…

No gaming for me this Sunday I’ve got some Warhammer 40k games 10th edition (IRL) coming up next week, so I’m going over the rules and my army list.

Tyranids vs. Death Guard. My list is pretty tame, but my opponent’s also a noob. So am I, but Ive got more experience and game knowledge than he does. Hoping it’s gonna be a chill couple matches.

Have you only played 10th? I’m curious to know what people think who entered only in this edition or haven’t played other tabletop wargames.

So, Ive been around since 3rd Edition, but I only played on and off. I played very little in 3rd and a little during 6th. Probably less than 20 games in total. This time, though, I plan to stick with it. My best friend recently got into the game cause I gifted him my old Death Guard army, and he’s now finishing that up.

Ive never really made it past the noob/novice stage, though. If youve got any questions or you’re curious about anything, feel free to ask! Im aware of other wargames if that is the question.

I have played 4 games so far in 10th edition. Plan to play at least another 3-4 next week with my friend.

Started the campaign for Battlefield 1 yesterday, and its pretty OK. I remembered really liking Battlefield Vietnam when I was a kid, so its a bit of a let down. I was expecting far more cinematic scenes with how heavily they marketed it when it came out. My experience so far has been Shoot > wait in a single spot > get out and fix vehicle > Wait. I don’t know if I’ll ever like a bigger shooter as much as I liked the original Modern Warfare 2.

Luckily, it seems like its pretty short which will let me turn my attention back to XCOM Enemy Unknown when I finish it.

Into the radius. It’s like VR Roadside Picnic/STALKER, well made and quite spooky. I scored an almost brand new used quest 3 for like half price on ebay recently

Im still playing MHFU and some FFXIV, though the past couple weeks I ended up spending most of my time learning how Wireguard worked so that I could replace Radmin for lan over the internet.

My partner has been really excited about Cinnabunnies. It’s a cozy game about baking bread to earn enough carrots to help your family move to a new village. Little rough around the edges, but it’s cute.

playing Hardspace: Shipbreaker again. Game is pretty addictive, although I wish I could skip the story segments in career mode.

Oh man, the ship generator in Shipbreaker would be an incredible basis for a “Spaceship Mechanic Simulator”. Buffing out dents in zero g, filling up tanks, replacing broken parts, troubleshooting by turning systems on and off and seeing what happens…

I just got Split Fiction to play with my partner. Prolonging playing until I finish FF7 Rebirth still, which I’ve been holding off on until I have a couple hours free to finish the rest in one go. I heard the end is pretty crazy and cinematic.

I’m so looking forward to Split Fiction, though. The world needs more local co-op games.

I’ve been playing flightgear, an open source flight sim. It’s loads of fun to just fool around with

I’ve also tried Rigs of Rods, which is a simulator for all sorts of vehicles. I haven’t spent too much time with that because it doesn’t have built-in joystick support So I need to get a program for linux where I can keymap joystick buttons

With both of the games, I think it would be really fun if you could select a character/pilot, and then use the multiplayer options for a virtual hangout-type thing
