I’m thinking of potentially buying stuff from them.
I’ve ordered plenty from Temu, and most of the stuff has been fine/as expected, some quite a bit above the expected quality (fancy faucet, fancy shower head, some tool bags. All great so far).
A few items I’ve expected to be a scam, and ordered anyways for curiosity. And they were indeed scams (f.ex., ordered 1$ porcelain knives set and received shitty plastic set).
So far it’s been easy to tell good from scam there.
Never had any problem. The sudden emergence of “bad quality Temu stuff” meme is pretty suspicious, i smell Bezos hand in this.
I buy things on aliexpress a lot and honestly some of the stuff is excellent quality.
But like any other storefront there will be plenty of junk. Just be mindful of what you are buying.
TTArtisan for example make lenses for cameras and I have bought a few of their lenses. They are superb I mean just really great quality for a fraction of the cost of a name brand.
China is able to produce things of great workmanship for pennies on the dollar. It’s really impressive
I think it’s the same factories that make the name brand stuff, just not massively inflated!
Temu and AliExpress are both fine, avoid Wish and be mindful of scams. Also watch your shipping costs, they can easily eat your wallet. You can filter items by whether or not it ships from US and for AliExpress they have what they call “Choice” items that you can get free shipping on if you meet a dollar amount.
I’ve never had problems with Temu. It’s good for buying little tech trinkets or clothing for cheap.
i like most of the things i’ve ordered from there (decorations, neck massagers, tech knick-knacks and stuff…i’m still hoping to find a good dog repellant
I’ve had generally good experience with Temu. My experience with clothes has been below average though.
in my experience clothes are a little hit or miss, they vary from generally pretty good to good for the (extremely cheap) price. Even with the misses though they are like a 6 pack of underwear having the pattern be printed a little wonky but they cost me ~1.5 usd equivalent for the lot
i got a shoulder bag from them for cheap, it’s good and hard wearing and i use it pretty much every day. I saw the exact same bag on amazon for double the price.
the only thing i would be a little wary of would be electronics that plug directly into the mains as I have no way of reasonably knowing whether they meet my local regulations

Temu is king for clothes imo, even though they’ll wear out quickly, their affordability makes just filling your closet with Temu crap more sustainable than shopping locally. That being said, Temu clothes have the funniest fuckin’ prints I’ve ever seen. Below is a list of some of the nonsense phrases I’ve had printed on Temu clothes I’ve ordered:
- Tree Grandpa
- SheleVele
- WEEDMAN
- Treasutes Mapleleaves Diweige
- Cloud Kissing
- The Meek One - 7
I bought an ebook reader case from them and I’m pretty happy with it. To get free shipping I also included some parts for my robot vacuum and they seem fine, but haven’t really tried them yet.
They dealt very neatly with customs and the products came fairly quickly. All in all, it felt like a good experience.
My partner buys stuff from there all the time and while I’d really rather she didn’t, we use most of the stuff that comes in. Occasionally the build quality will be so cheap the item falls apart pretty quickly, but you know what you’re getting with Temu so I guess roll the dice.
