A massive crater on the dark side of the moon apparently has two 2.6km deep canyons leading off. A massive rock hit the moon at 1-2 kilometers per second, creating the huge crater. Extra debris blown off caused the canyons.

    I believe it is the ‘far side of the moon’. The moon is tidally locked to the earth so we only ever see one face frome here. But it does receive light regularly as it orbits the earth.

      It’s called ‘dark’ because radio signals from earth can’t reach there and visa versa

      As in ‘They’ve gone dark’ (stopped all coms)
