We pop out as babies, and while we grow older, we develop more and more babies on our extremities, who again grow up and develop more and more babies.
That’s not accurate, but it’s a damn good shower thought :)

I think I missed a clause in my original comment. It is weird to us. You’re right. But to those hypothetical humans it wouldn’t be weird.
Yeah, it would be very weird for us to think about ourselves growing as humans.
Or we just get thicker and thicker and an autopsy is like cutting you in half and counting the rings of growth and looking for damage indicators in each ring
