Yea, was gonna say. The whole deer problem is 100% man made, but it wasn’t cars per se. Just good ole fashioned urbanization absolutely destroying the populations of their predators. Now there’s more deer than ever before, and that’s not great for them or us.
Cara have now taken over for wolves. Weirdly, the wolves probably had a better success and survival rate since the humble deer is almost purpose built for fucking up a car. Deer have been seemingly drafted by nature to be the true terroristic avengers of the Earth only surpassed but the moose. But they don’t have the sheer weight of numbers just sheer weight.

We also have a historically high population of white tails. Cars are just their most prominent natural predator.

If I believed in a higher power, it would be because deer are engineered to collide with cars
People don’t like hearing about the deer population explosion from the past hundred years.
I feel that way about furries, but what are we going to do?
Yeah because we killed all their predators to protect our livestock.
And people don’t like talking about hunting or reintroducing predators either
Nah, we’d rather push the fence out further.
The people who don’t like predator reintroduction are very different than the people who don’t like hunting.
@Voyajer @AgentOrangesicle Yeah, they really need to be exterminated (at least for a few thousand km from here)
