Day one patches are pretty common, don’t see why this is a big deal.
Read the article: it’s a freaking 139gb patch. So those that preloaded in anticipation are pretty much back to the starting line.
The game can’t be preloaded. This was answered by the devs. Those 140gb are the entire game.

The large download size might be due to how Xbox releases its updates. Xbox updates are often bigger compared to those on PC and PlayStation 4/5.
So, I stand by my original point that we shouldn’t get worked up until the game actually launches; there’s a decent chance the patch will be smaller on PC.

Too many hype news is an ill omen. And also I bet they imported some parts of the xray engine code (like npc behavior) so I’m expecting a lot of performance issues.
