actually touching grass after years,and for my less proud time-waster, Discord and Youtube.I feel like Reddit is a big basket of candy and goodies and I’m just sitting here staring at it telling myself not to touch. I’ve spent the time away by listening to podcasts and spending more time outside gardening and reading actual books and not a screen. It’s really rewarding and freeing, but I miss interacting with a community so I’m glad to have been directed to Lemmy.
Honestly, just taking a break from social media all together. Reddit was my main source of “media” for the past 7 years. I joined Lemmy to hopefully be a replacement. But it’s nice to just have a cleansing every once in a while :)

Well, looking if this lemmy thing is a good replacement ;) So far seems this is the way to go!
Especially with Jerboa already in place, its IMO a good switch.
The one thing that worries me is all that useful info trapped on Reddit, if Lemmy data expires then that has a long term cost/loss which is sad.
I’ve worked the whole time. Just avoided checking r/sysadmin and have been checking !sysadmin@lemmy.ml instead (or however you link/tag a community).
On mobile I’ve habitually reached to tap the Sync Pro icon for Reddit several times, hesitated, and tapped Jerboa for Lemmy or mt kbin icon instead.
Also took our pup to the vet for some of his shots and played with him.

Playing disturbing amounts of Factorio. Unfortunately a vast chunk of Factorio knowledge is on Reddit so I keep accidentally navigating there, fortunately the Factorio sub is dark so I can wander off again quickly.

What caused you to be banned?
I made a comment in a not serious subreddit about how I’d deal with certain people not respecting some specific rules local to my hometown. The comment was clearly camped-up and exaggerated for the comedic effect and fitted perfectly into the comments thread of that post.
I went a bit on reddit and then setup this instance getting it to work today.
