It only took me about 4 hours to make lol
Oh man! <3
The fact that the photo is rotated by 90° confused the heck out of me at first. The background looked like something an AI created where the longer you look at it the less sense it makes.
Beautiful tart btw, holy smokes.
Thank you! I’m not sure why they rotate haha
I notice that lots of photos posted to Lemmy are rotated by 90° and I’m wondering what the reason is, I doubt it’s coincidence.
Is it possible that you took the photo 90° rotated and corrected it afterwards? It seems to me like this correction is gone. If yes, how did you correct the orientation of the photo?
Beatiful! But don’t hold it sideways, it’ll fall!
I know this is a 3 weeks old post, but this is amazing.
Wow how?
Delish
Wow, that looks like what you would get if you googled “perfect apple tart”. Nice work!
It’s almost a shame to cut it.
Better shove it down at once.
Would you believe me if I told you it also tasted absolutely delicious? We invited some friends over and devoured the entire thing
Nope, wouldn’t believe you at all. You should make another and send it to me so that I can judge for myself.
Did it taste as good as it looks! It looks fantastic OP!
It actually did taste incredible. I essentially frankensteined 3 recipes together and made some tweaks. It was eaten in under an hour haha
So fancy looking 🌹 How was it? Are the apple “petals” a crispy texture?
Yes they’re somewhat crips because I used honeycrisp and granny Smith apples
You did it!! Wow!
Recipe?
Looks beautiful and delicious!
That looks gorgeous! I saw in another comment that you used a mandolin to slice the apples - you’re braver than I am. I have one, but I’m terrified of it 😅
They have finger guards for them! Don’t be afraid, they smell fear. You can’t slice all the way down, obviously, but the scraps can be used re: that comment I made earlier
Hahaha, I’ll think about it (or, more likely, cajole my spouse into doing it for me)
They don’t need their fingertips as much as you do, surely.
Is there some custard in the base of that? Or maybe frangipane? Or are you a madlad and went for 100% apples?!
100% apples my friend. I used a mandolin to slice the apples so that they were thin and uniform, but its hard to slice ALL of it right? So I took the little left over slivers, chopped them down, and cooked them into a soft apple pie filling with some sugar, lemon, a splash of white wine. Then I spread that into the par-baked crust before arranging the slices on top as you see. It made it taste really good, I’m glad I did that, but it was sort of something I came up with on the spot
Nice. Both resourceful and creative. Thanks.
