This is a dedicated place to talk about special interests. Thanks for joining so early in this community’s journey. I’m hoping to foster a welcoming, wholesome place.
Right now, I’m hyperfixated on cooking (hence my username), the fediverse, and maybe a couple blossoming interests. In the next little while, I will be sharing what I do for those interests, and I hope you’ll share your interests too!
I always wanted to learn cooking. Right now i can make scrambled eggs and soups. Soups are easy to make just throw a bunch of vegetables, some stock, and let it simmer.
It’s a breath of fresh air to see a community such as this. I don’t have anything to post at the moment but I will be here more often. Thank you for this community.
I’m really into cooking too! I mostly make stove top Cuban food, so some sort of meat marinated in citrus and garlic, rice, beans, and some sort of starchy side dish lie plantains, casava, malanga, etc. I also like to make things up in the moment with whatever is in the fridge, so I cook by taste and every meal comes out differently.
Top seasonings for me:
- garlic
- lime
- cilantro
- garlic
- lime
- bell peppers
- garlic & lime
- spanish onions
- lime & garlic
Actually, I think I mostly make garlic and lime seasoned with meat, starch, and veggies 👌
What sort of things brought you to cooking?

There may be other recipes I would like to try depending on my mood.
Among my other interests are comic books, the Fediverse, video games, books, the Bible (I read the Christian Standard Bible), learning languages, drawing pictures, curating art, blogging online, and listening to music.
EDIT: Sheesh, I had to type this comment up thrice because my GNOME Web browser kept crashing on me.
Are Elvis sandwiches to chicken sandwiches as Elvis is to chicken?
Elvis sandwiches are basically peanut butter, bacon, and banana with honey sandwiches.
Elvis Presley ate those often back when he was a prominent singer and performer in the USA.
Sounds like an interesting mix of flavours!
