Hi! I suggested to our lovely mod @thegiddystitcher@lemm.ee about starting a WIP (Work in Progress) Wednesday thread. That way we don’t have to wait until we’re fully done with a project to share it and we can encourage each other along the way 😄

Feel free to add to this thread with what you’re currently working on 😊

I had to reaaally dig up a picture, as I’m the one with the ideas but actually really bad at taking WIP pictures as I usually knit late at night 😅

This was my first try at knitting in the round and even though every pattern warns about not twisting your stitches I actually didn’t realize what it meant until I was several rows into my work. In the spirit of Bob Ross I decided to just roll with it, there are no mistakes, just happy accidents!

Pattern is the Meila Cowl from Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/meila-cowl

Yarn used is Colors by Reves Derecho in #0837 (DK weight) and 5mm circular needles (unknown brand, my mother had them in her stash lol).

The twist just makes it fancier! That’s a really cute pattern, not the sort of thing I generally wear but definitely the sort of thing I gift to family members so thanks for the bookmark 😄 Curious to see how your mobius version turns out!

I have zero, ZERO active knitting WIPs this week which is shameful for an accidental knitting moderator. Got some sock yarn that was dyed for me as part of a gift exchange though and I’m on the hunt for the perfect pattern to cast on ready for an impending holiday. If anyone has suggestions for something that will work with something as variegated as this, hit me up!

I spent some time recently working on my temperature blanket. Wanted to finish it by the end of August, but well… The first month is done. Only 11 more to go!

      temperature blanket

Had too google what was that and it’s so cool! I mean, totally undoable for me because I’m all for quick gratification, but I certainly admire your dedication, looking forward to see how this project goes through the year!

When I started it I was like: “How hard can it be to knit like two zigzags a day?” But once you miss a few days it all starts to pile up. I’m at the point where I’m okay with it just taking as long as it takes.

I tried to do a temperature cross stitch once, made it about a month in before I gave up completely and that was only doing about ten stitches a day! Absolute respect for even attempting a knitted version.
