I’m trying my hand at the Handsome Chris Pullover after successfully (nearly) completing a colourwork jumper.
I feel like I’m going to jinx myself but it’s actually been easier than I thought so far and no major issues. I’ve had to ladder down a couple of times to fix a cable but I can manage that. Only on the back panel about half way through so we’ll see how I feel when it comes to the neck at the front!
The pattern seems a bit bare when talking about the arms, does anyone have any experience with making this and have any ideas/advice on the arms?
Bonus pic:
Not OP, but the answer is, it depends. If you’re using a proper (read: slightly more expensive and probably non-acrylic) yarn
skeinhank, then yes, it needs to be wound into a ball first, then put into the bowl. The bowl keeps your ball from rolling around everywhere. If you’re using a cheaper type of center pull skein (no judgment!) then no, not really. But if you’re using a center pull skein, then you don’t really need the bowl. Your yarn won’t roll.
I’ve always seen them as sorta marketed for helping control tension. Are they useful for that, or just to keep the yarn in place?
Oh, I’m not sure. I’ve never noticed that the bowl made a difference in my tension, but I can’t afford the fancy yarn very often, so I rarely use one.
