A tweet saying "When men refer to themselves as “alpha males”, I hear that int he context of software, where alpha versions are unstable, missing importand features, filled with flaws and not fit for the public.
If someone advertises that they are supposedly “better” than someone else, I think “what a loser” and that they are most likely a liar.
Trying to be alpha is such a beta thing to do.
Quite reasonable given that the animal behavior researchers recanted on the wolf research that led to a mistaken usage of the terms alpha and beta. Turns out they were just looking at adult wolves and labeling them alpha, and juvenile wolves and labeling those beta.
The person who published that paper has spent so much of his life trying to inform people that it is flawed.
And so many of the “how do you know what the author meant?” “I AM THE AUTHOR!”
Wait until you hear about “Release Candidate Males” and “Emergency Hotfix Males” !
And “oh fuck fuck fuck shit fuck oh no no no no, we need a database backup now!”-deployments. I don’t like those.
When I hear someone say alpha/beta whatever my brain just goes to omegaverse hah
Same.
Alpha male? Beta male? Is there a Production model male as well?
That’s what you would call people who feel secure in who they are.
Yee, the production model is Pedro Pascal
That explains why my ex wife has the dude printed on a pillow sheet
Shit, those programmers are talented. Don’t let any juniors anywhere near that.
Even release models are flawed… wait for the second patch atleast!
