Sure, he peeled off a miniscule fraction of his ill gotten gains for some charitable causes, but who’s to say that we wouldn’t have been better off if he never took it out of the economy in the first place? Do you have any idea how much of a drain the Microsoft tax is on the world economy? Without companies like Microsoft, we probably never would have deteriorated to the point where we would elect a fascist like Trump.

I’m not sure the oath of office requires impotent demands for legislative actions that are guaranteed to go nowhere. I think it’s pretty well understood that the Democrats are in favor of impeachment.
There are a whole lot of things that a whole lot of Democrats could or should be doing that aren’t being done, but this really isn’t one of them. In fact, it’s one of the weakest things they could be doing.
I really don’t think it has much to do at all with ICE vs Electric vehicles. It just so happens that both transitions are going on at the same time. If anything, the electronics involved in running an average modern ICE vehicle are more complicated and more proprietary than an average electric vehicle.
I completely agree that LLMs aren’t intelligent. On the other hand, I’m not sure most of what we call intelligence in human behavior is any more intelligent than what LLMs do.
We are certainly capable of a class of intelligence that LLMs can’t even approach, but most of us aren’t using it most of the time. Even much (not all) of our boundary pushing science is just iterating algorithms that made the last discoveries.
I solved that for most of them by going AMD with my last upgrade. No more binary drivers solved most of my issues. All that’s left is really the anti-cheat kernel garbage. For that I just decided fuck it. I found it easier to stomach changing some gaming preferences than the Microsoft ecosystem.
I finally went 100% Linux and I’m never going back.

I think talk of betrayal and cowardice is overdramatic, but I do think she has been overly influenced by the Democratic establishment reality distortion field.
When these bitter criticisms drag on for years while none of the people making them seem to move the needle more than AOC has, it kind of takes the wind out of your sails. At some point, you either show us how to do it better or admit you either don’t know or are even less committed than she is.

I think AOC gets a whole lot of unfair criticism from the left, but this is a pretty indefensible take. Jeffries not only has to go, he is seriously vulnerable, and his defeat would be the best kind of political shakeup.

I would argue the same is true of Trump. It certainly was in his first term. This term has all the aesthetics of authoritarianism, but he is failing to consolidate power, which is kind of pathetic considering how much power in the US was ready to surrender on day one.
