Sad news, but trimming the fat is what people wanted Mozilla to do. Anyone know a good alternative to Fakespot? I absolutely don’t trust amazon’s own review summaries, and expect other alternatives would be for-profit data harvesters.

That giant handheld Nitro 11 looks atrocious. Happy to see handhelds entering the market after the steam deck, but this ain’t it.
Every year since the day I switched has been my year of the linux desktop
Would there be any other way to access the iTunes music/media store? I only use itunes now to buy DRM free music when its not available on bandcamp. As far as i know its been the only way to access and purchase via the itunes store on a non-apple device
Own your Computer
Funny, I have the opposite opinion. Gnome is great on laptops, especially 2in1s. KDE Plasma is a great desktop PC environment.

Replaced my xcover, which replaced my lg g5. Wish it got more love in the foss OS department. Love all the hardware features but dont love samsung. First party support for a phone like this though is a benefit

Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit is making sitewide protests basically impossible
8·1 year agoPrivating protests definitely had some teeth in the short term, but not in the long term. In the short term, it targeted what Reddit and other social media sites value most: user retention. By privating subreddits, people would be denied access to the content they want (while being served ads), so they’d click off the website. That’s why it’s gone now. It’s sad people are still volunteering their time for the profit of investors. I would, though, argue that privating subreddits was one of the most effective online protestings of recent history
I’ve enjoyed using the Simple Alarm Clock on F-droid, importantly for me, it requires you to hold down the shut off button for a couple seconds which helps prevent me from accidentally shutting off my alarm instead of snoozing it. Only downside for this app and possibly others is that they may not function if your device OS updates in the middle of the night.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your favourite open source software that you discovered in the past year, that you can no longer live without?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Those who are using Nvidia's driver 555, what's your experience in Wayland so far? Those who are using it in conjunction with KDE 6.1, what's your experience with multi-monitor VRR in Wayland?
1·2 years agoI’ve decided due to running into issues as well, that my system being built on x11 for a few years means I probably wont switch to wayland until I do a fresh install to avoid any potential issues around old x11 packages i’m running

Worse than this, was their logo video for Tony Hawk’s Underground, where Eric the rival character gets attacked and pulled into the sewers by the T.H.I.N.G. and gets reduced to bones.
Sounds like your best bet is to self host an email service

Dont have it in front of me so instructions might be off, but Audacious can load any winamp skin you download, it is available as an option in the customization settings. You might have to drop it into a skins system folder on audacious, but winamp skins are one of the theme options you can pick on audacious. Looks just like winamp but the backend stuff is different (right click menu’s, etc.)

Sounds to me like you would really enjoy the high customization and windows-like defaults of the KDE Plasma desktop environment. Unfortunately Mint doesn’t offer a KDE Plasma desktop version (although its available in its packages, its not recommended to install it on Mint). If Mint doesn’t satisfy you, maybe Kubuntu or Fedora KDE would be more up your alley.
