ElPsyKongroo@sh.itjust.worksto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•All right music fans, what's your favorite band/musician and how many times have you seen them live?English2·1 month agoMinami. She’s a Japanese artist that I’ve seen live, well… 0 times. Turns out if you mainly only listen to Japanese music and you live in Europe, concerts don’t work out too well for you.
I joined about half a year after the 3rd party apps died. Reddit’s decision back then still feels like it was more recent than just 2 years ago, though…
Can time stop speedrunning itself, please?
ElPsyKongroo@sh.itjust.worksOPto Lemmy411 - Don't know where to find what you're looking for?@lemmy.ca•Is there a community where I could share my favorite Japanese music discoveries once a month?English2·1 month agoI ended up creating it and damn, note to self: don’t do that at night when you’re a bit tired already. Somehow I read your comment without the “don’t”, which… makes a difference haha.
I added “Undetermined” now, so I’m guessing it’s not really an issue beyond the community being visible to less people for its first 10-or-so minutes?

I considered a general music community, but I wanted to first ask whether one exists that I missed. I am also considering making one myself.

I had no idea that instance wasn’t online anymore. I had subscribed to it way back. Not that it would’ve been fitting given those rules anyway, but that’s good to know, so thanks for letting me know.
I’ll look more into what creating my own community would entail.
ElPsyKongroo@sh.itjust.worksto Map Enthusiasts@sopuli.xyz•Countries where over 90% of the population can speak EnglishEnglish3·1 month agoSweden is one of the non-obvious countries (that being places that aren’t like… UK, USA, Australia, etc) that I would have expected to be on this map. So that makes sense that that they’re close, just not 90% or higher.
Although I’ve never been to Sweden, so admittedly my assumption wasn’t based on anything.
ElPsyKongroo@sh.itjust.worksto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•The fact that this is a real image is infuriatingEnglish3·6 months agoI know. I’ve seen the context. I was just saying that I was hoping it was AI just because the alternative is so messed up.
ElPsyKongroo@sh.itjust.worksto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•The fact that this is a real image is infuriatingEnglish46·6 months agoI’m not American, so I’m just now catching up with what happened over there yesterday. The first time I saw this image (elsewhere), I was praying that this was AI-generated. And I hate seeing AI-generated stuff and I’m not religious either. I still wish it was AI but now I know it’s not and… jesus christ.
ElPsyKongroo@sh.itjust.worksto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•The fact that this is a real image is infuriatingEnglish1·6 months agoThe Nazis are associated with the Holocaust rightfully so, but it ends up with people thinking that all it entails is anti-semitism. Trump and Elon Musk can back Israel and be Nazis.
Ah okay, so I did read that wrong then.
just with half the extensions, though that plan didnt seem to help them avoid people going after them.
Wait, am I interpreting this the wrong way, or did you mean that Mihon is already threatened?
Yeah, that’s fair. You said you were curious what other recommendations there are, which is why i mentioned Mihon.
I’m not sure if Aniyomi is going to be affected by what happened to Tachiyomi, cause I haven’t used Aniyomi in years, but hey, if it still works and you like it, keep going with it.
I liked Kotatsu for some features, but I ended up trying Mihon after seeing it mentioned a lot, and it has most of what Kotatsu does.
And I also had trouble with Kotatsu’s sync. It synced my library, but it wouldn’t update read chapters between devices. So if I read up to, say, Chapter 14 of a manga, then did the sync and read Chapter 15 on the other device, the first one would still have me at Chapter 14. Also, not really sure why, but activating the sync on the second device was kind of a pain. I had no trouble setting it up on the main device, but then the second one wouldn’t open that screen where you can load your library. I ended up having to make my way through some well hidden settings outside the app (as I figured out that the screen it was meant to open was basically a redirect to the phone’s settings), and it wasn’t even worth it, since it’s not properly being synced anyway.
It’s not me, unfortunately. My username is a reference to something from Steins;Gate, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are other "ElPsyKongroo"s around the internet xD
