I used neonmodem once, was kind of buggy but it worked alright for reading text based posts. I wasn’t able to login though.

More info on that: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/bungie-used-an-artists-work-without-permission-in-marathon
It’s not like this game was going to be remarkable anyway.

It’s not really valid these days anymore since every instance now has Vote-View enabled for moderators and Lemvotes allows anyone to see votes on any post or comment in Lemmy if they so choose.

Draconic NEO@sh.itjust.worksto MeanwhileOnGrad@sh.itjust.works•Admin of VTC praises HamasEnglish32·2 months agoToo bad you’re on lemmy.world and they don’t federate with your server. You could DMCA your own comments on their server and claim you don’t agree to their TOS. That can sometimes get the host or registrar to take the site down.
(This is legal, you OWN the copyright to the things you write, and your instance TOS only guarantees they have the right to host it, it doesn’t guarantee anyone else that right.)
Draconic NEO@sh.itjust.worksto MeanwhileOnGrad@sh.itjust.works•Admin of VTC praises HamasEnglish101·2 months agoI almost forgot about Vegantheoryclub.org I remember controversy about them with !vegan@lemmy.world where one of the mods of that community was also an admin on there or had ties to the admin there and was using it to ban anyone who criticized her or downvoted her. She was posting a ton of reactionary content (some of which was misinformation) and even tried to ban LW admins from the community. They eventually booted her and she tried to use alts to add herself back but ended up getting all of them booted and then used an alt to try and create more drama.
Yeah I strongly recommend people stay away from vegantheoryclub, they’re not a good instance. Their admin clearly has problems.

Like could an instance migrate and have users just login to the piefed instance as if nothing had changed? If not point remains. Migrating software later in the life cycle of the platform is a destructive process, and one done with very little purpose considering the nature of open-source software.

It would mean starting our instance from scratch and losing everything we have content, user registrations, communities. If Sublinks hadn’t stalled it could be a promising alternative, and maybe will be in the future, since it’s built around that whole concept of database and API compatibility.

He’s trying to make a shift because he doesn’t want to face repercussions of being labeled transphobic, possibly being widely banned and ostracized.
It’s very different when someone actually realizes they were wrong and want to change and be better. Nutomic isn’t doing that here, he just wants people to give donations and to avoid fallout from him letting his opinions slip publicly.

It’s kind of a bad financial decision. If you still want to that’s your decision but people shouldn’t buy it without knowing they could get a better deal elsewhere. That’s why these things get called out for being too expensive, not because they aren’t or shouldn’t be allowed to, but because people deserve to know it’s a horrible deal.

Different seeds can produce wildly different results on the same model even, AI image gen relies heavily on randomness.

Probably would think that I look like a DnD nerd, stereotypical computer nerd, or might just draw me as a straight up dragon or dragonborne. Hard to say. Especially since I’ve been using temp chats lately.

Probably also the same reason all the people who have tried and to get me addicted to gambling have failed.

I’m not sure but I don’t remember there being any full free games on the eshop, F2P yes but developers there never opted to make their games just free. Some devs on Steam absolutely have.
Draconic NEO@sh.itjust.worksto Games@sh.itjust.works•AI cheats: Why you didn’t notice your teammate was cheatingEnglish191·3 months agoI’ve kind of given up on the idea of playing those types of competitive online games, not just because of people cheating in them but also because of how the community these days addresses cheating, by witch-hunting and accusing people of cheating for being too good, or for sucking at the game, or for having opinions on surveillance and security (sometimes just because for being queer). They also often harass these people they target. I have hundreds of toxic assholes on Steam blocked for this behavior alone because they came to my profile to harass me.

Stay classy hex as always 😎English4·3 months agoml might be a hard one to sell for people, if servers would defederate from ml that would be good but I think many servers right now are afraid of it backfiring like how Beehaw defederated lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works and killed 90% of their interaction and 100% of their network effect overnight.
Of course I do think things are different now and if big servers defederated ML, ML would be the one to lose out, not the bigger servers. Only reason people still use the Bigger ML communities is because they continue to federate, if they weren’t people would use the other ones on places like lemmy.world, sh.itjust.works, lemm.ee, and programming.dev.
It would be cool if there were a custom Lemmy-UI CSS theme that mimicked the Text based look of the BBS terminal interface but still gave the full functionality and allowed you to view images in posts and banners.
