You might know this collective human macroorganism or superstructure as The United States of America, United States, The United States, U.S., or USA. Not unlike Satan or Lucifer, the United States of America has many names and has many tricks up its sneaky, sneaky sleeves.

They are the nation which is widely considered the current globally dominant empire, extending their hegemony through most of the americas, europe and some stategic outposts in the caribbean and asia with a complex network of competing allies in the middle east. The have the world’s most powerful (and expensive) military forces. their intel services are top tier and they are masters of managing public opinion. They control or exert influence over several “neutral” “peace keeping” organizations such as the united nations, the world bank and several other very official very serious and neutral sock puppets. They are, however, in the imperial stage of late decadence, and have become obsessed with food, sex, fame, and all other kinds of hedonism we’re familiar with, leaving the values of the old in the past, now considered lies only suckers or evil men subscribe to.

You may not believe me, but I actually like them. Lived there when I was a kid. If it wasn’t them enslaving my country and by extension myself, it would be some other empire (like China or Russia). This is one of the reasons why learning history is important. If you’re unconvinced, that’s fine. Just think of me as another fediverse nutjob. Downvote me and go on with your life. I have no intention of changing your mind and I wish you well. <3

Overall, the American populace are good people imo. Their ruling class is full of dick heads, yes. Let’s take a look at our own ruling classes, though… Yep. Also dickheads. What a surprise.

My point is, the USA is an empire and empires commit atrocities, yes, but we could have it a lot worse, you know?

I’m pretty sure they’re named United States of America, not United States of American Empire

also, how are they enslaving you exactly?

Well I could start by explaining that I, as a Chilean citizen, am subjected to a legal framework which was built upon a constitution which was made by the people of a ruler that was put in power through a CIA Operation during the administration of Richard Nixon. This constitution, while slightly modified, is still the Chilean constitution.

Enslavement is a very nuanced thing, not a boolean variable. There are many ways in which one may be and not be a slave, but yeah, legal framework is a pretty big part of that.

Ok so are you saying that if I lock someone in a cage and make them do everything I want, under the conditions I want them to, and if they do not comply, they will face brutal punishment and i do this during their entire life… But I have no legal ownership over this captive person (which i PROMISE is hypothetical), it’s cool cause if I look at a dictionary, they’re not a slave?

I love how you think. You’re gonna go places, friend.

                Have a blessed weekend.

that’d be something like deprivation of liberty, human trafficking, exploitation, physical assault etc but not slavery

Not OP, but I’ll give my two cents anyway (I like the sound of my own voice… Or I guess the look of my own text in this case)

Why would I want your post deleted

You came off a bit adversarial in the first comment. I would believe you meant to come off as curious, but unfortunately text doesn’t translate tone well.

Why would you do it if I wanted you to

Human decency. You could also block them, but that’s your perogative.

But yeah please explain how you’re enslaved

The US government does a lot of work to make sure slavery stays legal, they just don’t use that word. Private prisons are the most obvious example of this, but they’re also stripping freedoms and rights from individuals who have never been incarcerated. They make a show every now and then to make it seem like that that’s not what they’re doing, but if you really take a look at the policies that are getting pushed right now and have been pushed in the last few years, you’ll see it.

I can’t remember which state it is, but at least one of them are trying to pseudo-reinstate Jim Crow laws or whatever it’s called when they restrict voting. Married women, older people and the disabled are being intentionally pushed away from polls by making the ID requirements stricter. And that’s one of the tamest examples I’ve seen lately

imo all empires are built over the hunched, broken backs of many, many slaves. With any luck it might be robots in the future, i guess.

russia has ditched the “empire” from the name, doesn’t mean they’ve stopped trying to be one. By that logic, DPRK is a democratic republic because it’s in the name. You can name countries literally anything.
